Plant communities with naturalized Elaeagnus angustifolia L. as a new vegetation element in Altai Krai (Southwestern Siberia, Russia)

Elaeagnus angustifolia L. (Russian olive) is a deciduous small tree or large multi-stemmed shrub that becomes invader in different countries all other the world. It potentially invasive some regions of Russia. In beginning 20th century, it was introduced to steppe region Altai Krai (Russia, southwestern Siberia) prevent wind erosion. During last 20 years, Russian olive starts create its own natural stands and influence on native vegetation. This article presents results eco-coenotic survey plant communities dominated by first described for Siberia analysis their possible syntaxonomic position. The investigation conducted during summer season 2012 allows revealing one new association Elytrigio repentis–Elaeagnetum angustifoliae no-ranged community Bromopsis inermis–Elaeagnus which were included Class Nerio–Tamaricetea , Order Tamaricetalia ramosissimae . study, following special features have been described: polydominance herbal layer, anthropogenic grazing load, variation species richness, cover vertical stratification into layers. These peculiarities mostly prove unestablished character communities, them are relatively young (25–30 years). shrubberies varies moisture saline regime, connected with existence landforms (lake alluvial plains, gentle slopes lakes, low lake terraces).
